Job Summary
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in orthopedic patient care, primarily working in a 32-bed unit with certifications in hip and knee replacements. This position requires collaboration with healthcare professionals, assessment and planning of patient care, and ensuring safe direct and indirect nursing care.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboration with other health professionals
- Assessment, analyzing assessment data
- Establishing goals, planning care strategy, establishing priorities of care, implementing care
- Delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care, evaluating responses to interventions
- Performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation
Requirements:
Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Previous experience in the healthcare field is also preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
- Current RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining required during orientation prior to providing patient care
About the Unit:
The Ortho/Spine unit is a 32-bed unit specializing in orthopedic patients, including total shoulder and ankle patients, as well as other fractures. We also care for low-level cardiac patients and some med-surg patients.
