We are seeking an individual who enjoys the selling process, can close sales confidently, and has excellent customer service skills. The Sales Rep will be responsible for engaging with customers, promoting nursery products, processing sales transactions, and providing exceptional customer service to drive sales and meet revenue targets.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with plant selection and design ideas of landscapes.
- Provide expert advice, focusing on selling of plants and related products; all while ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Process sales transactions, including counter and phone sales.
- Create quotes with prices and availability, create sales orders, process change orders, process credit card payments, coordinate delivery schedule.
- Ensure sales, contract obligations, quality standards, and expectations are fully met.
- Oversee plant delivery; may occasionally assist with the installation/planting process at the customer’s location.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the plant varieties and care requirements.
- Initiate calls to dormant customer accounts in efforts to reopen and increase provide sales.
- Provide an end-of-day report for the Sales Manager with details of sales and calls generated.
- This position requires weekends and may require other duties as assigned.
Requirements/ Qualifications
- 3 years nursery or landscape sales experience
- Experience in horticulture or landscaping
- Knowledge of the different types of plants, trees, and shrubs
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced sales environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Good computer and phone skills
- Basic math skills for processing transactions
- Book of business in the industry is a plus
- Must have a valid license, with a clean driving record
- Pass background check
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily working in a basic office environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull and lift objects up to 30 lbs.
- Frequently required to work outside, under inclement weather conditions, hot and cold temperatures.
Pay
- $20 hourly plus commission

5 days a week, Saturdays are a mandatory workday.
