Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tax Preparer or CPA with tax preparation experience to join our team immediately for the busy tax season. This seasonal position has the potential to transition into a regular full-time role based on performance and firm needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and confident in preparing complex individual and business tax returns. Experience using CCH is required.
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Analyze financial documents to determine tax liabilities and deductions.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks to manage client accounts.
- Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance on tax planning strategies to optimize clients' financial situations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and address inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of all tax-related documents and communications.
- Collaborate with internal team members to ensure timely and accurate filing.
- Use CCH tax software to complete tax returns; Canopy experience is a plus.
Skills
- Minimum 3 years of tax preparation experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
- CPA license preferred but not required.
- Proficient in CCH tax software.
- Experience with Canopy is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax codes.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Pay: $38.00 - $44.00 per hour
