Job Overview

Position: Axles and Suspension- TL

Basic Function:

Must be able to read workorder ticket that matches the VIN number that is stamped on the trailer for proper axle size. Retrieve and install proper axles, jacks, and couplers on all trailers based off the workorder of each trailer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Pull trailers in the axle station and prep them according to work order.

· Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 40 pounds.

· Install and torque all bolts to spec.

· Tie axle brakes into electrical system.

· Install proper jack according to workorder for respective unit.

· Install adjt coupler.

· Lower trailer to ground in the back using a hydraulic jack.

· Uses power tools such as a torque wrench to secure tires to axles.

· Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality.

· Attend all safety and production meetings and/or trainings.

· Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment by cleaning axle area and tools, as needed.

· Must be able to perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Competencies:

· Physical strength to push and pull trailers down the ASSY line

· Ability to read and acquire proper axles according to workorders.

· Spend extensive periods of time on your knees/ bent over.

· Ability to operate machinery such as, air impacts, drills, and impact wrench and follow torque specs according to each unit.

· Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

· Must be reliable and dependable.

· Must have good attendance.

· Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions given in written or verbal form

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
