Job Summary
The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of materials and components required for manufacturing. This role ensures the timely procurement of quality materials at competitive costs while maintaining strong supplier relationships and optimizing inventory levels. The Senior Buyer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality, to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management :
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and continuous improvement.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost reductions and service improvements.
- Procurement & Inventory Management :
- Execute purchase orders in alignment with demand planning and production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess stock, optimizing working capital.
- Implement procurement strategies to support new product development and operational efficiency.
- Cost Control & Risk Mitigation :
- Analyze market trends, material costs, and supply chain risks to proactively adjust sourcing strategies.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and industry regulations.
- Supplier Performance & Quality Assurance :
- Monitor supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
- Partner with quality teams to address supplier issues and drive corrective actions.
- Support supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
