The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all supply chain activities across the Dyersburg facility. This includes leading the purchasing and material planning functions, establishing the utilization of a common ERP system, managing suppliers, and optimizing operational production. The role will involve leading a team, ensuring alignment of supply chain activities with business objectives, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing and Material Planning:
- Lead and manage the buyers at both sites, setting objectives and performance standards.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effective acquisition of materials and components.
- Establish standardized purchasing and material planning procedures across both facilities.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues that arise.
- Lead supplier relationship management activities, including regular performance reviews and audits.
ERP System Utilization:
- Oversee the implementation and utilization of a common ERP system across both facilities.
- Ensure that all supply chain activities are integrated with the ERP system for better data visibility and decision-making.
- Train and support staff on ERP system functionalities and best practices.
- Coordinate with IT and other departments to maintain and upgrade the ERP system as needed.
Supplier Management:
- Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable supply of materials and components.
- Monitor and mitigate supply risks, including disruptions and price volatility.
- Implement strategies to reduce lead times and optimize inventory levels.
- Work with quality assurance teams to ensure materials meet quality standards and specifications.
Material Planning and Inventory Management:
- Lead the material planning function across both facilities, ensuring accurate demand forecasting and material requirements planning.
- Develop and maintain inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize excess, and avoid shortages.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring they are appropriate to support production schedules and customer demand.
- Oversee product lifecycle management, including the introduction of new products and the phase-out of obsolete ones, to manage inventory efficiently.
- Implement and maintain processes for demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and replenishment.
Operations and Production Management:
- Collaborate with plant managers to ensure effective production planning and scheduling.
- Optimize production workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor production output and identify areas for improvement in production processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to address production bottlenecks and optimize resource utilization.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage the supply chain team across both facilities.
- Set goals, monitor performance, and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address issues, and strategize future initiatives.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on key supply chain metrics, such as cost savings, supplier performance, inventory levels, and product lifecycle.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for cost reduction or process improvement.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in managing supply chains across multiple locations is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, with experience in implementation and management.
- Proven track record in purchasing, material planning, and supplier management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to travel between the two facilities as needed.
