NorTex Psychiatry Institute is seeking a highly motivated, energetic Medical Receptionist in an innovative, fast-paced, efficient, and rapidly growing medical practice. Responsibilities
- Answer a multi-line phone system and handle patient calls as appropriate.
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments.
- Completing the New Patient Registration process and assisting patients in doing this electronically.
- Greeting patients/checking-in and checking-out patients.
- Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits with health plans before the patients arrive.
- Obtaining referrals and precertification/pre-authorizations, as required.
- Collecting co-payments, coinsurances, balances, etc. at or before service.
- Scanning and sorting medical records in the AdvancedMD EMR.
- Managing fax inbox(es) in EHR and standard faxes.
- Communicating and collaborating with other health team members.
- Cross-training with other team members at the discretion of the office manager
- Completing and submitting accurate End-of-Day Reconciliation
- Assisting in relationship management with referring physician offices.
- All other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager and/or Physician.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred but not required 1 year of proven medical office/ receptionist experience in a physician practice.
- Excellent typing and documentation skills.
- Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office Word, Excel.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: $22.00 to $26.00 /hour depending on experience
