The following position is available for the 2025-26 school year:
Position: Criminal Justice Teacher
Location: Bellmont High School, Decatur Indiana
Qualifications:
The individual in this role will assume the responsibilities of curriculum development, classroom management, and community relations as mandated for CTE teachers in Indiana. Employing both theoretical and hands-on expertise in Criminal Justice, the instructor will impart a diverse array of criminal/street law, motor vehicle law, juvenile law, community policing, vehicle theft and stress management knowledge and skills through classroom and laboratory instruction within the Career and Technical Education Department. This approach aligns with Criminal Justice Next Level Program of Study Pathway.
Familiar with criminal justice related careers and opportunities.- Plan and implement criminal justice course work and planning of developmentally appropriate practices and activities.
Requirements:
Candidate must have appropriate Indiana teaching license OR be eligible to obtain license based on education and work experience. (Candidates having over 4000 hours in the field in the last five years eligible)
- Five years of experience in any agency or program considered to be a part of the Criminal Justice umbrella, preferred.
- Traditional Criteria: Bachelor’s Degree in the discipline or related area OR an Associate’s Degree in the discipline or related area plus a minimum of two years’ (or more, as determined by the department) documented related industry experience. Any applicable licensures or certifications.
- Tested Experience: Combination of education, training, applicable licensures/certifications, and relevant occupational experience commensurate with the level of expertise required in the discipline.
