What are the responsibilities and job description for the X-ray Technologist position at North Alabama Bone & Joint Clinic?
Duties/Responsibilities*:
- Operate and maintain x-ray machines
- Determine individual technique for ordered examination and position patient properly
- Perform procedure by verbally confirming with the patient before beginning a procedure
- Properly shield patients for all examinations
- Produce quality x-rays with correct Patient ID and markings
- Escort patients from lobby to treatment rooms, x-ray waiting, brace shop, etc.
- Assists providers’ healthcare team in clinic as needed
- Maintains wheelchairs, including proper maintenance and sanitization
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to project a professional image at all times
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Detail oriented with above average organizational skills
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- ARRT license required
- Knowledge of radiologic standards, requirements and regulations
- Thorough knowledge of Orthopedic terminology and anatomy
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, grasping, carrying, reaching, bending, and stooping
- Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds or greater
- Exposure to radiation which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and monitored by radiation badges
