What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intermediate Accountant position at North America Construction?
NAC is currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our corporate head office Finance team located in Morriston, ON.
Position Summary :
The Intermediate Accountant plays a vital role in the organization's financial operations, including posting journal entries, preparing accurate financial statements, and maintaining accounts receivable and payable. Reporting directly to the Controller, this position is instrumental in supporting the development and implementation of financial plans and policies. The role also encompasses maintaining fiscal records, assisting with budgeting, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
General Responsibilities
- Prepare and process Accounts Payable, Subcontract Payments and Accounts Receivable
- Liaise with project staff and support them in bookkeeping needs related to their program areas
- Complete reconciliations for banks, etc.,
- Process the account reconciliations (General Ledger, contract, subcontract, etc.)
- Complete and maintain the accuracy of adjusting entries, accruals and reallocations
- Generate and maintain intercompany transactions and record-keeping
- Process and validate monthly / quarterly financial reporting, including consolidations and overheads, as required
- Prepare governmental remittances
- Assist with audits
- Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for complex financial and accounting issues
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization's books of account
- Other duties assigned as needed.
