JOB TITLE: Activities Assistant/Aide
DEPARTMENT: Activity
REPORTS TO: Activities Supervisor
Responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, and intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, with great consideration of resident’s assessment and care plan.
• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs for the facility. Encourage resident participation in activities and social interactions. Provide activities support to our residents.
• Regularly update resident charts regarding their attendance, behavior, and involvement in facility activities.
• Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility, as well as considering the services and needs of residents and their families.
• Assist activities director in developing and implementing of activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Interview and involve residents (and their families) when planning activity programs, objectives, paying special attention to individual feedback and information.
• Coordinate with other departments as necessary programs to promote daily programs and special events.
• Make recommendations to the Activity team leadership to assure continued ability to provide meaningful activities.
• Participate in facility surveys and inspections made by authorized government agencies as necessary.
• Perform administrative tasks, such as completing forms, compiling reports, etc., and submit all required or request reports in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
• High School diploma or its equivalent required.
• Class C Driver’s License required.
• Maintain a working and demonstrated knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations that could impact the activity department.
• Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and an independent manner.
• Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish this job.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and multi-tasking skills required.
• Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Related administrative experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam, if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
Physical and Sensory requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, fine-hand coordination, pushing and pulling; ability to communicate with residents; ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; ability to read and write; and ability to remain calm under emergency situations and while dealing with multiple tasks.
RATE: $18-20 (DEPENDS ON EXPERINCE)
FULL TIME
MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY
8:30 AM TO 5PM
