Position Overview
The Director of Accounting is a key position in the BradyPLUS organization that will support profitable business growth and accounting excellence for the Central region. Collaborating closely with the regional sales, operations and FP&A leaders, this position will manage and implement efficient day-to-day financial operations and strong internal controls in the multi-site environment.
Responsibilities Include :
- Serve as day-to-day finance leader and consultant for staff, Region leaders and GM's
- Work closely with FP&A team in support of analysis and identification of opportunities for performance improvement.
- Manage accounting department operations including all aspects of general ledger and transactional accounting / accruals, accounts receivable, accounts payable and weekly cash flow forecast.
- Implement corporate policies, including accounting, levels of authority, and innovation projects.
- Direct the preparation and timely completion of the monthly close for all businesses within the Central Region.
- Ensure general Ledger balance sheet account reconciliations are completed and reviewed on a regular basis.
- Ensure a strong internal control environment, supporting Sarbanes Oxley program.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes in financial operations and further automate were possible.
- Regional point of contact for external and internal financial audits.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, liaising with advisors and corporate as appropriate.
- Oversee sales tax collection, remittance and nexus monitoring.
- Supervise, develop, and provide feedback to direct reports. Managing a team of more than 20 GL accounting, AP, AR, Credit and billing professionals.
