Lineman Instructor- Journeyman Lineman
North American Lineman Training Center- McEwen, Tennessee
POSITION: Full-Time Journeyman Lineman Instructor SALARY: $74,500- $78,000 per year PLUS significant annual bonus as well as housing provided for instructors who live out of town.
LOCATION: McEwen, Tennessee is 1 hour West of Nashville in the rolling hills of Humphreys County
North American Lineman Training Center (NALTC) is a dedicated pre-apprentice lineman instruction school based in Tennessee. Our instructors are some of the most recognized and well versed instructors in the industry. The ideal candidate instructor will possess detailed, in-depth knowledge of all aspects of power generation, transmission, sub-station, overhead and underground distribution aspects of power delivery. We work 4 ten-hour days per week with Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. There are 8 weeks of paid vacation a year with this job. Excellent for retired linemen or those that are on the road who wish to settle down.
As NALTC is growing its footprint in this exciting and lucrative industry, we are looking to add instructors to our program. Instructors will be required to teach both classroom and field training to students who come to our campus in Tennessee from all over the United States. Although NALTC is a smaller school relative to other in the industry, the goal remains the same- to give the entry level line-worker the best, most comprehensive classroom and field instruction so he may begin his career.
QUALIFICATIONS
Each candidate must be a full Journeyman Lineman with a verifiable completion certificate of his apprenticeship.
- Ability to adapt with current curriculum and newest industry standards
- At least 10 years of Supervisory or Foreman experience as a lineman.
- Prior teaching knowledge and experience or training apprentices under your guidance is also acceptable
- Openness to work with newest generation of line-workers and train them patiently and diligently
- Ability to remove the “foreman” hat and wear the “instructor” hat
- Full CDL and good driving record helpful but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Each candidate must be able to climb steel and wood structures using fall restraining devices within Federal and manufacturer guidelines . There are dedicated instructors who climb but each instructor must know how to climb in hooks.
- Be able to instruct for several hours continuously as determined by the curriculum.
- Occasionally travel to meet with utilities and contractors.
- Be flexible as to the occasional outside training where a handsome per diem is paid for your time.
- You must be willing to relocate to Middle Tennessee and/or live within driving distance to our campus in McEwen. There is instructor housing for those who live out of town.
