Join the small AND mighty team at the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS). In existence for 30 years, NANS is an intraprofessional society of physicians, scientists, advanced care providers, engineers and members of industry dedicated to transforming lives through neuromodulation.  

We are looking for a professional with a passion for delivering great customer service to join our team. This position supports efforts to retain, recruit and engage members and will work cross departmentally to support office operations. The Membership Coordinator also provides administrative support to the CEO. The Coordinator has strong attention to detail and is a self-starter with the ability to work well independently. The ideal candidate should have familiarity with a broad range of office software and a willingness to learn new ones. This position reports to the Manager of Membership and Operations with a dotted line to the CEO.  

Position Location 

Applicants should be based in Illinois. NANS is a virtual organization so the Coordinator will be mostly a remote position, with occasional meetings in Chicago needed. 

Work Schedule 

This is a full-time hourly position, with a 37.5-hour work week, Monday-Friday. The hours are 8:30 - 5:00 PM Central Time, with a one-hour lunch break. 

Essential Responsibilities 

  • Provides phone and email support to customer inquiries and acts as a first point of contact for members and non-members. Responds promptly, accurately and professionally to inquiries sent to general mailbox or received by phone. 
  • Performs administrative tasks such as preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings, mailings, and providing general department and committee support. 
  • Supports the CEO with appointment scheduling, correspondence, travel arrangements, minutes, reporting, and other administrative tasks.
  • Ensures member data is updated and accurate in MemberClicks and follows Standard Operating Procedures to remove duplicate data from system. 
  • Assists with the execution of member engagement and recruitment communications and initiatives.
  • Coordinates with our parent society to produce monthly reporting to ensure new member data and renewal data is accurate and members obtain benefits.
  • Prepares reports, meeting minutes, and other documents as requested.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 
  • Some evening work may be required in staffing meetings or managing webinars. Travel to meetings for the society may also be required. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience 
  • Skilled user of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook 
  • Familiarity with SurveyMonkey, MailChimp or similar programs
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented and well organized 
  • Efficient in managing multiple priorities 

 Preferred Qualifications 

  • Nonprofit or association experience 
  • Experience with CRM or AMS software

Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
