North American Renewables, Inc (NAR), a leading renewable energy engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm, is a sister company to Professional Electrical Contractors of CT, Inc (PEC). In the calendar years 2022 and 2023, NAR operated within the framework of PEC and performed EPC business under the PEC name. On November 1, 2023, NAR was founded and later was formally launched as a stand-alone business with our EPC customer base (on January 1, 2024). Much like PEC, NAR has delivered on the promise of quality workmanship and industry leading safety standards on our construction projects - completed on time and within budget. Our strengths lie in the combined talents of our principles and associates, our diverse technical and business skills, and from our strategic understanding of the renewable energy community shared solar and distributed generation markets. NAR performs work on projects up to 20 MW AC. North American Renewables (NAR) is seeking an established, proven, detail-oriented, and organized individual to join our team as a Business Development Director. In this role, you will be responsible for building a sales pipeline across multiple renewable energy sales channels and then executing on that pipeline. The primary focus in this role will be to grow NAR's customer base for both mechanical installation and operations and maintenance opportunities.
The ideal candidate must have the required internal drive to "win" business. Must possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals in the renewable energy (solar) market. This candidate will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while also working closely with members of the NAR leadership team with consistent direct reporting to the very top of the organization.
Requirements and Responsibilities :
- Education : Bachelor's degree required, master's degree a plus
- 5-10 years of direct sales and / or project development experience in renewable energy
- A proven sales producer who meets or exceeds sales quotas year over year
- Comfort in carrying a multi-million-dollar sales quota
- Prime or sub-prime construction contracting experience
- Has the ability to close complex deals in a timely manner
- Develop and implement sales strategies to improve sales efficiency and effectiveness
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist in the development of process maps and implementation of best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM software (Hub Spot), and other sales tools.
- Ability to generate accurate reports and forecasts of pipeline, sales trends, etc
- Must adhere to company policies as it relates to CRM data input
- Experience working in an entrepreneurial organization is a plus
- Must be willing to travel, attend industry conferences, visit clients, etc
