What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Buyer position at North American Rescue?
SUMMARY
The Associate Buyer is responsible for supporting the procurement and integration of products into North American Rescue (NAR) This means analyzing multiple sourcing options to determine the primary vendor, purchasing as needed, integrating sourcing information into the ERP system, and following POs through the receipt and inventory process. This position will work closely with the Product Management and Supply Chain teams to ensure customer requirements are being met in the most cost-effective and efficient way. Also, this position will assist in the integration of all item procurement information throughout the enterprise as well as maintenance throughout the product life. The Associate Buyer will have communication with vendors and maintain positive, professional relationships with them. Ideal candidates are organized, attentive to details, and self-starters with strong interpersonal skills.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES This is not an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities. Projects/duties may be modified/changed/added/deleted as needed.
- Evaluate multiple suppliers for existing items and obtain procurement information
- Review and analyze data from multiple sources to determine the most ideal source
- Integrate procurement information into the database system
- Provide backup and support to the Supply Chain team as needed.
- Assist in the maintenance of item and supplier information integrity in the system
- Maintain supplier relationships, including obtaining necessary information from suppliers required for integration.
- Provide item/supplier information to Contracting as needed.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of ERP system
- Comply with internal policies and procedures for sourcing and purchasing
- Assist in the management and maintenance of a Quality System that complies with mandatory and voluntary regulations and standards
- Review sales tracings for purchased products to generate and provide reports as needed
- Assists in the resolution of purchase order discrepancies with material management team (warehouse, Contracting, and Accounting) and coordinates in a timely manner.
- Conducts the daily purchasing function operations to include vendor management, review inventory demand, execution of purchase orders, follow up on back orders, etc
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma required.
- College education preferred.
- Experience in sourcing and/or purchasing strongly preferred.
- Experience with database ERP systems preferred.
