What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at North American Rescue?
SUMMARY
This position oversees all day to day accounting issues, including problem solving with AR, AP and other departments to ensure the integrity of data in the Great Plains system. This position is responsible for assisting in the month end closing of the General Ledger and with month end reporting to internal and external management.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES This is not an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities. Projects/duties may be modified/changed/added/deleted as needed.
· Review postings of all journal entries from AP, AR, inventory, etc. and then post to GL daily
· Assist in Month end journal entries
· Assist in the preparation of all month end sales, COS, and inventory reconciliations and financial report backup schedules
· Reconciliation and clearing of the intraco’s AR and AP for each month
· Assist in the preparation of Financials at month end and upload to HS’s HFM platform
· Preparation of weekly and monthly financial report
· Prepare the Monthly Operating Review package and budget reconciliations by department
· Prepare Daily Sales report for submission to parent company
· Assist in the quarterly SOX testing and submission
· Backup for all Accounting Team members including AR, AP, Bank Rec
· Assist in the collection of outstanding Accounts Receivable
· Other duties as assigned
SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Completes any tasks and/or projects assigned by supervisor
· Other duties as assigned
AUTHORITY
· Initiates journal entries to correct general ledger accounts
ACCOUNTABILITY
· Ensure postings to GL are accurate and complete, and make necessary corrections
· Ensure Accounts Receivable Aging remains current
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience:
· Demonstrated knowledge and advanced experience in Microsoft Office Suite is required
· Experience with Great Plains or other similar software package
· Preferably 5 years of minimum experience in an Accounting environment.

DEMANDS
Time and availability
- Must be able to work at least 40 hours each week from 8 am-5 pm, or some variation thereof.
· Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand
