We are currently looking to add a Foreman to lead sheet metal operations from our Tampa location. This individual will be responsible for fabrication of all sheet metal used on various commercial roof systems. The individual may oversee the installation of sheet metal on commercial or industrial projects. This is a great opportunity to grow with a new role and further enhance overall growth and operations with North American Roofing, nationwide.
Job Duties:
- Oversee the sheet metal crew in the fabrication of sheet metal for commercial roofing systems in the sheet metal shop.
- Train, mentor and evaluate crew members to improve skills and efficiency, productivity and quality.
- Coordinate with the installation crews installing the fabricated sheet metal to ensure quality control.
- Review job file and follow details specific to the job.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager on the sheet metal progress for their projects.
- Manages the team fabricating the sheet metal and ensures payroll receives all time records by the weekly deadline.
- Inspect daily work for quality.
- Oversee safety setup and make sure work areas stay NARS and OSHA compliant at all times. Hold team accountable for NARS safety standards.
- Manage materials, tools and equipment ensuring availability and proper use.
- Submit documentation for crew incidents/accidents to Project Manager and Safety Department.
- Submit expense reports in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned.
5 years of sheet metal fabrication for commercial roofing installation
2 years as a foreman or crew leader
Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, layout and installation techniques for large scale, commercial roofing projects.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications accurately.
Experience With Computerized Sheet Metal Folder, Required
Strong understanding and compliance with safety protocols and OSHA compliance
A driver’s license or the ability to get a driver’s license within 30 days of hire is required
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment with varying environmental temperature conditions. Must be able to work in varied extreme temperature conditions (extreme hot and extreme cold).
- Will be standing and walking in significant increments of time in order to operate the machinery that fabricates the metal.
- Repetitive bending, squatting, twisting and stooping with infrequent lifting up to 120 pounds is required. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
- Operating heavy equipment is required regularly.
- Perform work in a fast-paced environment with precise production standards.
- Repetitive finger/hand/forearm motion necessary for fabricating metal used in the production of a commercial roof.
- Exposure to noise during the metal fabrication process.
- May be required to climb ladders for accessing a roof while on a quality inspection or supervising an installation. Exposure to heights when accessing a roof.
- Up to 10% travel to job sites for quality control.
- Ability to manipulate keyboards, telephone keypads, and other office equipment.
- Talking and listening required for answering telephones and conversing personally with customers and staff. Manual dexterity required for accessing filing cabinets.
