We are seeking a skilled and proactive Database Analyst / Developer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of NASS databases, websites, and associated systems. This key position is responsible for the management, maintenance, enhancement, and effective utilization of our Association Management System (AMS), empowering all departments to optimize processes, boost efficiency, and improve communication.
In this role, you will also contribute to the development of websites, integrations with external systems, and deliver actionable insights through business analytics and intelligence. While not a design-focused position, your appreciation for intuitive, user-friendly interfaces and clean design will be vital in supporting successful outcomes.
Core Competencies :
- Dynamics 365, Power Platform & Microsoft Fetch
- Web development principals using jQuery, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, C#, .net.
- General understanding of Restful APIs and Single Sign- On (SSO) authentication.
- IIS & web hosting applications and processes.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Database Administration
Manage the performance, upgrades, and integration of the AMS to align with organizational objectives.Collaborate with departments to optimize workflows and improve communication through effective AMS usage.Customize and manage the AMS database to align with organizational processes, policies, and standards.Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies to maintain optimal efficiency.Ensuring data consistency and accuracy by implementing data validation rules and proceduresCreate user training materials for new AMS enhancements and updates.Website Development
Lead the development, maintenance, and integration of websites and external systems to ensure seamless functionality across all websites.Maintain and support existing and future databases integrations with the websiteAssist the website manager in developing, troubleshooting and maintaining custom backend development.Integrate third-party services and APIs to enhance website capabilities.Administration & Reporting
Partner with staff, members, and committees to transform high-level requirements into practical applications.Analyze data from diverse sources to uncover insights and derive meaningful conclusions.Address helpdesk and RMM system requests by resolving assigned tickets efficiently.Create and manage reports and dashboards to identify trends, utilizing tools like Power BI.Stay updated on technological advancements, systems, and applications to support organizational goals.Skills Needed :
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into layman's terms for non-technical stakeholders.Strong troubleshooting, analytical and diagnostic skills, along with good communication abilities.Strong attention to detail and member-service orientation.Must possess critical and methodical thinking skills to address issues quickly and effectively.Must be familiar with software development methodology and concepts.Able to demonstrate patience and active listening skills to work well with others and solve difficult technical issues in a timely manner.Able to work irregular or extended hours occasionally to support planned / unplanned website maintenance or issues.Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology or related field of studyMinimum of 2-5 years of experience in database administration (Association Management Systems experience is preferred)Preferred 2-5 years of experience in website / software development (Microsoft or .net preferred).Travel

Flexible, hybrid or remote work arrangements offered; proximity to southwest suburbs of Chicago area preferred but not required. Small, fast paced team environment with collaboration across multiple departments. Normal sitting and standing activities for an office / remote office environment. Occasional evening / weekend hours needed for maintenance & troubleshooting if necessary. Exposure to glare / eyestrain from computer screen. Utilize office equipment and communication technologies for conference calls and teleconference meetings / webinars.
