We are looking for two experienced Machinists to join our team on either 1st or 3rd shift at our facility in Ridgeville Corners, OH. A Tier II supplier of components, systems and aftermarket products for the automotive industry with a core business market consisting of seating, ride control, exhaust components, heat shields, noise, vibration and harness (NVH), chassis and structural and window regulators.
JOB FUNCTION: Sets up and operates CNC machining centers (HURCO) to fabricate parts by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
· Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
· Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and sheers.
· Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
· Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
· Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
· Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
· Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
· Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
· Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
· Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts.
· Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.
· Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with all necessary machine operations and base knowledge of measurement/gage equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other computer generated data.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this jobs, the associate is required to talk, see, and hear.
Must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for up to 8 hours a day.
Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds frequently
Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Must be able to pass a drug screen.
