North American Trailer is a family-owned Minnesota based company with an opening for a Working Shop Foreman at our Chippewa Falls, WI location. This position will handle the day-to-day supervision of shift operations and technicians and the complete repair and general maintenance of semi-trucks and trailers. We are looking for someone detail oriented, strong mechanical aptitude, and a strong work ethic.
SCHEDULE:
2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 3pm- 12am

The essential duties include:·
- Provide leadership and direction to the technicians
- Evaluate technician’s skillset and provide training as needed
- Assist technicians in locating parts / job related issues
- Related activities that promote the goals of the Organization
- Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
- Perform repair and customization work as assigned including routine maintenance, brake replacement/repair, suspension repair, electrical and pneumatic and hydraulic component troubleshooting and repair, trailer body repair including complete trailer rebuild.
- Track all parts and materials used in repairs or replacements.
- Ensure the final work product meets quality standards
- Maintain a safe and clean work area for customers and co-workers
- Expectations; Maintain 50% efficiency of billable hours in the shop
Requirements

- Technical aptitude with electric diagnostic / troubleshooting experience
- Welding experience a plus
- Basic tool set and toolbox to start (assistance programs available)
- Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. occasionally and 10-50 lbs. frequently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Reliability and a dedication to be a hard worker
- Ability to work independently maintaining a safe, efficient, and friendly work environment
- Repair and shop operation knowledge with a strong technical aptitude
- Ability to train technicians at varying levels of experience, skillset and learning styles
- Able to receive feedback on operations from peers, subordinates and manager and respond in a productive and constructive manner with a focus on solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong computer skills – knowledge of Karmak, a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask
