ABOUT US:
North Atlantic States Carpenters Benefit Funds (NASCBF) is responsible for the plan operation for Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. We service approximately 24,000 active members and 22,000 retirees. The Funds are responsible for the operation of three retirement plans, a self insured, self administered health plan, and a vacation savings plan.

SUMMARY
Assist in populating, updating, and maintaining member and dependent data records as required to support benefits administration by performing the duties below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete the process for Health Enrollment forms. Add new members and or dependents or update existing members and dependents' demographics in the system. Include verifying proof documents.
- Complete the process for Beneficiary Designation forms including forwarding forms to members, reviewing the forms for completeness, and adding and or changing beneficiaries in the system.
- Corresponded with members, as needed.
- Opening and date stamping the daily mail for the Pension, Annuity, and Health Benefit Funds.
- Scanning documents in the DMS System.
- Complete the process for the Address Changes including forwarding forms to members, reviewing the forms for completeness, and adding and / or changing beneficiaries in the system.
- Corresponds with members, as needed.
- Opening and date stamping the daily mail for the Pension, Annuity and Health Benefit Funds.
- Scanning documents in the DMS System.
- Complete the process for Address Changes, including forwarding Address Verification forms to members, and changing addresses in the V3 system.
- Complete the process for return mail for the Pension, Annuity, Health Funds and Vacation Funds
- Monitors the NECBF email account and forwards any emails to the proper departments.
- Issue New Member packets, as needed.
- Review and research various reports relating to incorrect member data.
- Using multiple resources, correspond with members, dependents, Local Union offices to obtain the correct information. Make any necessary corrections to member demographics on computer systems.
- Review Divorce documents for completeness and notify Pension, Annity and Health Departments.
- Assist with Receptionist coverage, as needed.
- Assist all the departments with certain processes.
- Perform general clerical duties and other duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary education (minimum Associates degree or high school diploma and equivalent business experience).
- Experience in the field of employee benefits.
- Strong working knowledge of processing systems including Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to cross-train in all areas.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to interact effectively with internal staff and external clients.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Answering the telephone and assisting members.
- Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, fax machine, etc.).
- Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.
- Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.
- Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
- Close vision required for computer usage.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 25 pounds.
THIS IS A BARGAINING UNIT POSITION
Salary Range is 54,600.00 - $66,000.00
