What are the responsibilities and job description for the OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST-PRN position at North Beach Rehabilitation Center?
· NORTH BEACH REHAB, a Skilled Nursing facility located in North Miami, FL, is seeking an experienced and motivated PER DIEM LICENSED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST.
Accurately assess the needs of all individuals prescriptively referred for evaluations and/or treatment. Plan and carry out an individual progressive treatment program intended to maintain or improve each person’s physical and/or psychosocial well-being or to prevent disability within the dictates of the prescription, therapy goals and policies of the facility.
- Must have a Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. Must hold and maintain current licensed to practice in the appropriate State.
- Must be registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc., as designated by the initials O.T.R.
- One full year of experience in a skilled nursing facility is desired.
- Must be familiar with NetHealth (documentation system)
- Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish this job.
- Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
- Must have the ability to relate and motivate patients for productivity.
- Must be able to cooperate with patients, families, peers, healthcare professionals, administrative personnel, students, and other staff.
- Must be observant and accurate in recognizing and documenting patient change.
- Be creative in the development of Occupational Therapy treatment programs, used of media and application of adaptive devices.
- Must maintain regular attendance on the job.
- Be flexible in adaptation to patient or environmental change.
- Be able to teach patients with varied ability to learn.
