Job Details
- Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business
- Prepare, clean, and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
- Come up with recipe ideas from scratch
- Prepare glazes, fillings, toppings, and other products per company standards and recipes given by the Executive Pastry Chef
- Plan the menu of desserts and pastry to complement savory items
- Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitized at all times
- Calculate and scale recipes to determine the quantities of prep items needed on given production totals
- Oversee a team of junior pastry cooks and other staff members as necessary
- Maintain up to date knowledge about pastry arts and ingredients
- Carry out administrative duties to maintain an efficient workspace
- Handling and reheating food
- Will be required to work varying schedules that reflect the business needs of the hotel
- All other duties that are assigned

- At least 2-year experience as a prep cook, pastry cook, or similar role
- Thorough understanding of basic pastry techniques such as mixing methods, making pastry cream, cooking the curd
- Ability to communicate with the public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner
- Computer and phone literacy required
- Keep supplies filled and maintained
- Clean up spills and maintain proper sanitation
- Must have the ability to bend, squat, and frequently lift 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
- A high school diploma is a plus
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
