Purpose

*Please take note of our location in North Branch, Michigan prior to applying for a position. *

Primary job duties include, but are not limited to, assisting residents with those activities of daily living that they are unable to perform without help and fostering at times resident’s independence and freedom of choice. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of this organization.

Essential Requirements

· High school diploma or GED

· Must be 18 years of age

· Must pass criminal background check

· Must meet all health requirements, including TB. (Per State Regulations and Community Policy)

· Ability to read, write and speak English

· Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation

· Must be able to work full or part time on a regular schedule, and on-call as needed

· Must be able to work flexible hours and participate in holiday activities

· Must be able to think, act, and intervene independently in both routine and emergency situations

· Must be self-motivated and function as an “in-charge” person

· Must be able to relate to residents and staff in a courteous and diplomatic manner under all circumstances

· Be prompt and dependable, neat, clean and properly dressed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

· Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers

· Perform job duties for residents and with team members in a courteous and professional manner

· Take initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction is a priority

· Meet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner

· Answer phones appropriately, according to company and community standards

· Communicate professionally and cooperate with supervisor and all community personnel

Resident Rights

· Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding resident’s rights

· Comply with HIPPA Regulations.

Specific Tasks

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Medication Assistance

· Assist residents with care activities.

· Supervise and assist with the storage, distribution and discontinuation of residents’ oral medication(s).

· Report observations to Supervisor.

· Immediately report any change in resident’s condition to the Supervisor.

· Monitor vital signs as needed by personnel with current license/qualification.

· Comply with policies and procedures of the community as outlined in the Procedures Manual.

Compliance

· Ensure that the Wellness Operations and Standards comply with all local, state and federal rules, regulations and statues as they relate to Case Management and Resident Care.

· Maintain accurate and complete departmental records as required. Record significant changes in residents’ condition to his/her physician.

· Documents medication supervised and note resident’s response. Follows through on verbal medication change orders received from the physician.

· Document resident incidents.

· Administers medications, monitors side effects and documents the observations.

· Maintains established records and/or reports needed to meet compliance requirements.

· Documents resident incidents, errors or accidents and reports to the resident’s family/sponsor or physician as needed.

· Coordinates move-out, ensuring proper labeling and packing of resident’s belongings, if necessary.

Staffing

· Promotes and facilitates interactive problem solving with all employees.

· Take call off phone calls and assist in replacement if needed.

· Conducts and/or assists in training of new employees.

Customer Service

· Assures that all employee functions in the department are carried out in a kind and courteous manner.

· Reinforce company branding promise; “The best care comes from compassion and service” by creating a customer experience of the highest quality.

· Conducts prospect interviews and conducts tours of the community.

· Acts as ambassador and public relations representative to guests and other visitors.

Residents Rights

· Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding resident’s rights.

· Comply with HIPPA Regulations.

Training

· Attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep the department and staff abreast of charges in Wellness Services and related profession.

Physical/Sensory Requirements

Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

OSHA Category Classification

· Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 36 per week

  • Medication administration: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Caregiving: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Caregivers: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
  • CNA (Preferred)
  • Driver's License (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • North Branch, MI 48461: Relocate before starting work (Required)
