Overview:
My client, a leading multi-strategy investment firm with a strong track record of innovation and growth, is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst to join their team. This role involves managing essential invoice and payment processing tasks to ensure accurate expense recording and financial operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Accounts Payable and Accounting teams to maintain efficient processes and support ongoing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain approvals for invoices before processing payments.
- Enter invoice details and allocate expenses in accounting software (QuickBooks, StavPay).
- Prepare checks, wires, and ACH payments with supporting documentation for review.
- Verify vendor bank details before payment submission.
- Record payments, including those in foreign currencies, in the accounting system.
- Perform cash reconciliations and monitor the shared accounts payable inbox.
- Collect tax forms from vendors and keep vendor records up to date.
- Run reports for state sales tax filings.
- Provide support to vendors for payment-related inquiries.
- Assist the Accounting Team with audit requests as needed.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience with QuickBooks Desktop or similar accounting software (experience with Stavtar is a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Solid understanding of journal entries, including debits, credits, and accruals.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- High attention to detail, particularly with invoices and expense allocations.
- A collaborative mindset with a willingness to assist with ad hoc requests.
- Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under pressure.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to learn concepts during live training and challenge existing processes constructively.
