Description
The Computerized Tomography/Diagnostic Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of computed tomography/diagnostic imaging procedures, using prescribed ionizing radiation while adhering to the As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle to aid physicians in the diagnosis of disease. This person will also critique images, transport patients, clean equipment and perform related clerical duties as required.
Requirements
- Graduation from a School of Radiologic Science with current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist with Computerized Tomography certification preferred.
- Must maintain certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist by obtaining 24 Continuing Education Units in a 2-year period.
- Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension/expression.
- Ability to manage a challenging work environment related to changing patient needs, including work with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes, and those who are dying.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform and assist the Radiologist with various diagnostic, interventional, invasive or surgery procedures.
- Possess the knowledge of exam preparations required for the correct administration of oral and IV contrast prior to the Computed Tomography/Fluoroscopic procedures.
- Demonstrate the knowledge of various software programs within the department.
- Maintain a current BLS CPR certification.
- Equipment used currently include Siemens, GE & Carestream, Fuji
- Must be willing to work in X-Ray and travel to Gooding occasionally.
