North Capital is seeking an Accountant to take responsibility for many aspects of its accounting and financial reporting functions. This is a hands-on and detail-oriented position, bearing much responsibility, reporting to the CFO at a successful financial technology company.
This position has primary responsibility for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, bank account & credit card reconciliations, invoicing, and some accruals and deferrals using QuickBooks Online. Administers and tracks employee benefits and state payroll tax notices with the help of Rippling payroll software and a third party benefits consultant. Provides on-time and accurate reports to the management team on a daily and weekly basis.
Experience with payroll, financial statement preparation, bank reconciliation, and general bookkeeping is preferred. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required. High proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office or Google G-Suite for Mac required.
The candidate must be a self-starter who is responsible, ethical and has excellent communication skills. This position will interface with clients, vendors and management. Strong attention to detail is required to ensure that transactions are properly recorded, that they contain all required documentation and that they adhere to regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintain all internal controls and financial policies and procedures
- Identify issues and apply accounting principles to resolve
- Bank reconciliation
- Credit card expenses and reconciliation
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Bank transfers & payment processing
- Payroll preparation and management of state payroll tax notices
- Inter-company entries and reconciliation
Qualifications needed:
- 2 years of experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant preferred
- Knowledge of general accounting principles (US GAAP)
- Bachelor’s degree. A major in accounting or finance is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for Mac with advanced Excel skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once and learn new technology
- Self-starter who is able to work independently with integrity and honesty
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Dependable and able to maintain a professional image
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Proven organizational and analytical skills
- Strong work ethic and eager to learn new skills
- Easy to work with and team-oriented
