The position is a Medical Records Assistant (Administrative Specialist I) and is located at Sanford Correctional in Sanford, NC.
Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform a variety of office and/or technical tasks to accomplish the specialized processing of medical records, documents or materials.
- Effectively maintain files/records according to departmental policy to allow quick access and retrieval of information requested.
- Work requires general knowledge of medical office practices and procedures to review, verify, complete, record and/or balance records, reports and numbers.
- Duties within the public contact function involve interaction with medical providers and vendors.
- Functions independently within defined guidelines.
- Ability to work independently with people with courtesy and tact in performing daily duties with other professional disciplines and in public contact duties.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess the following:
- Documented experience performing administrative functions in an office setting.
- Demonstrated experience in organization, retention, review and filing of records.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
