The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is seeking applicants for an Education Testing and Accountability Consultant II (Working Title: CGSA – Skills for the Future Grant Project Coordinator) for our Office of Accountability and Testing.

This position is responsible for overseeing all operations related to implementing the grant across a network of three districts (Mooresville Graded School District, Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, and Iredell-Statesville Schools) in North Carolina while supporting the management of the grant in the following ways:
- collaborating with project partners to coordinate activities, share best practices, and ensure successful project implementation.
- engaging with stakeholders at the state and local levels, including educators, administrators, families, and community partners, to gather input, build buy-in, and ensure project success.
- managing all aspects of the grant, including budgeting, annual reporting to the U.S. Department of Education, and compliance with grant requirements.
- overseeing the development and delivery of professional development sessions for educators and school counselors on durable skills instruction and use of the skills suite.
- working closely with technical teams to oversee the development and refinement of the skills suite, including evidence collection tools, scoring rubrics, and student transcripts.
- collaborating with evaluators and the assistant director (psychometrics) to assess the effectiveness of the skills suite in improving student outcomes and workforce readiness.
- coordinating the dissemination of project outcomes, best practices, and research findings to a wide audience, including educators, policymakers, and the public.
Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess all of the following:
- Demonstrated experience utilizing instructional methods and/or techniques using a variety of modalities for adult learning.
- Demonstrated experience in grant management.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Slides/Sheets, and/or other digital workspaces
- Demonstrated experience with project management and/or tasks, timelines, etc.
Management Preferences:
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations that govern public education in North Carolina.
- Preferred experience with high school.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Master’s degree in Education, Tests and Measurement, Education Research, Education/Quantitative Psychology and Statistics, or Statistics, from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience in an education environment needed to perform the work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
