Description Of Work

We are looking for candidates who have a passion for helping at-risk youth.

We are Working Together to Strengthen North Carolina’s Youth and Families!

This position is located at Cabarrus Youth Development Center in Concord (Cabarrus County), NC.

This position provides administrative, human resources & fiscal support to the Facility Director.

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for the facility.
  • Welcome, direct, and assist visitors, staff, law enforcement. legal and mental health staff and families.
  • Check-in visitors, check IDs, complete visitation paperwork, radio for student and/or visitation staff and check-out visitors.
  • Answer telephones, direct phone calls, take and deliver messages to staff.
  • Schedule virtual appointments and email visitation schedule to Director, SW Supervisor, Visitation Staff, Cabarrus YDC Supervisors, Clinical Director and Nurse Supervisor.
  • Maintain blank visitation forms and forward completed forms to Student Records Department
  • Complete vehicle key log (Sign-out/Sign-in), reservation calendar, and tally travel logs monthly.
  • Maintain/prep vehicle clipboards, forms & key tags for new vehicles.
  • Order P-Cards via E-Procurement.
  • Prepare USPS and Courier mail for pick up.
  • Create new fiscal year files and archive old medical, foodservice, motor fleet, USPS mail, and P-Card files for shredding at appointed time.
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned by the Facility Director.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position. Work hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

To qualify for this position, applicants must demonstrate ALL of the following KSAs:

  • Working knowledge of common office practices and procedures.
  • Experience multi-tasking while responding to questions and inquiries and using diplomacy when greeting the public and communicating via telephone.
  • Experience managing an office schedule and coordinating a variety of appointments, meetings and conferences.
  • Experience organizing office responsibilities using time management and prioritization skills.
  • Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint).

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience;

Military Experience

  • A current member of the North Carolina National Guard in good standing must attach a NGB 23A (RPAS).
  • A former member of the North Carolina National Guard who served for at least 6 years and were discharged under honorable conditions, must attach either a DD256 or NGB 22.
