The Department of Revenue established this position as hybrid remote.
The North Carolina Department of Revenue is seeking a TPAC Trainer to work in the Involuntary Compliance Logistics and Operation Support (ICLOS) Division in TEC University. This position provides training and expertise to all Taxpayer Assistance and Collection Division employees and, at the direction of leadership, serves in a management role as needed in designated service centers in order to maintain expert technical and process knowledge.
Duties of this position include communicating and presenting tax law knowledge, the use of Departmental computer systems and Taxpayer Assistance and Collection policies, procedures, and techniques. The position assists in designing and developing instructor-led and eLearning module training materials which requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Curriculum development includes but is not limited to tax law, procedural and application, and professional skills training. Training will include classroom instruction, virtual communication and instruction, and on-the-job training. This position possesses extensive knowledge, serves as the subject matter expert, and trains managers, team leaders, and all other Taxpayer Assistance and Collection Division employees.
This position is open statewide and will work out of the nearest service center.
Position requires travel with occasional evening or overnight travel.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities / Competencies

Bachelor's degree in Business/Public Administration, Economics, Accounting or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in tax accounting and auditing work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Knowledge of taxpayer assistance and/or collection processes and procedures
- Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and methods for collection of all taxes owed the State (e.g., Sales and Use, Individual Income, Withholding, Privilege License and Corporate and Franchise Tax Laws)
- Experience creating and presenting training materials
- Knowledge of the Department's Integrated Tax Administration System (ITAS)
