Job Summary and Qualifications

*This position will be based out of Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, NC*

Role Summary:

Provides first level contact to and feedback from Outreach Clients. Represents Mission Health System to the customers (physician offices, hospitals, nursing facilities and patients). Transports specimens, surgery trays, x-rays, medication, money bags, patient charts, mail, medical records, checks, patient reports and supplies to various locations both internal and delivers appropriate supplies, result reports and communication items to Clients.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Education: None
• Required License: Must have a valid NC driver’s license or procure one within 30 days of employment unless an out-of-state commuter, at least two years of satisfactory 2 driving experience and be at least 21 years of age to meet the Mission Health established insurance guidelines.
• Preferred License: None
• Required Experience: Verifiable experience in customer service or in a position dealing with the public.

Medication Access Statement: System Courier may have access to areas where medications are securely stored, in order to perform their specific job duties. System Courier will not access any of the medication storage devices. The medication storage devices may be moved to allow the employee access to any area the device may be obstructing. The medication storage device is returned to the original location if moved. Employees of Courier Department may have in their possession medications, in secured totes, boxes, or other container that the manufacturer/distributor ships medication in, as they transport the containers directly to the pharmacy department. Materials Management Personnel will not open nor remove any medications from these secure containers.
