POSITION PURPOSE:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Opposition Analyst to join our team. This individual will analyze upcoming opponents and prepare and deliver comprehensive reports with actionable insights to aid in the team's performance of the forthcoming opponents. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of women's soccer at both domestic and international levels, advanced video analysis skills, and the ability to present findings clearly to players and technical staff. At the conclusion of the season, this role will assist the Scouting department by identifying players to target for future acquisition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Opposition Analysis:
· Research and analyze upcoming opponents' style of play, tactical organization, strengths, weaknesses, and potential areas of exploitation utilizing video and data.
· Prepare and deliver detailed reports and presentations for technical staff and players to use in preparation for the game.
· Provide supplemental video content for individual players as requested.
Team Collaboration:
· Collaborate with the technical staff to integrate opposition insights into game preparation and support the Head Coach in developing game plans tailored to upcoming opponents.
· Utilize presentation, telestration tools, and video platforms to enhance understanding during team meetings.
· Support in-game decision-making through live analysis and coding during matches.
· Assist with the analysis of training sessions to align preparation with opposition strategies.
Data And Technology Integration:
· Combine video analysis with performance data to provide actionable insights.
· Maintain and update opposition databases, ensuring relevant metrics and scouting data are organized and accessible.
· Stay updated on the latest analytical tools and methods to enhance the department's capabilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· A proactive and innovative mindset, constantly seeking ways to improve processes.
· Experience as an opposition analyst or similar role, ideally in a professional environment.
· Proficiency in the HUDL suite of software programs (Sportscode, Wyscout, STATSBomb, Insights, and Studio).
· Experience with Spiideo, RT Software, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
· Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks under strict deadlines.
· Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering insights to diverse audiences.
· Certifications from third party providers (e.g., STATSBomb, Association of Professional Football Analysis) preferred.

· Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
· Coaching certifications (e.g., USSF or UEFA licenses) are a plus.
· Familiarity with coding languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis is advantageous.
