POSITION TITLE : Plumber I
REPORTS TO : Maintenance Director
BEGINNING DATE : Open Until Filled
NATURE OF WORK :
An employee in this class is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of water and waste systems. Assignments are generally routine and detailed instructions are given with assignments. Problems are referred to the supervisor. Errors are quickly revealed and performance may be checked upon completion of assignments. The employee receives direct supervision.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
- Working knowledge of the techniques, methods and tools of the plumbing trade
- Skills in the use of tools, materials and equipment used in plumbing work
- Ability to understand and carry out oral or written instructions
- Must furnish own hand tools
- Must have a valid North Carolina driver's license and provide own transportation to and from work
- Must be able to obtain CDL (Commercial Divers License) permit within 6 months of employment and CDL License within 1 year of employment
- Must be willing to work overtime (weekends or afternoons) when necessary
- Must be willing to perform duties indoors and outdoors during normal / extreme weather conditions
- Must be drug and alcohol free and will be periodically tested for drugs and alcohol
EDUCATION AND TRAINING :
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT : 12 months
SALARY : Salary Grade 59
FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
