Description of Work
The duties of this position include: Providing end users’ desktop support including inventory tracking, equipment deployment (by shipping or in-person delivery), creating user accounts, performing hardware troubleshooting/diagnostics, and completing various software installations. The position may be reassigned to support different applications as necessary to support the department’s critical needs and changing priorities In accordance with departmental standards employee will: a) Support laptops and/or workstations with associated peripheral equipment including printers, docking stations, scanners, etc. b) Complete basic software installations c) Perform basic network troubleshooting and connectivity testing with end users including verifying IP, physical connections, hotspot/Wi-Fi settings, etc. d) Perform advanced software and hardware troubleshooting and issue resolution on end user supported devices. e) ensuring compliance with security protocols including security scans on network systems, application systems and other computer equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
- Demonstrated working knowledge of telecommunications, office software system and databases i.e. CMS
- Experience working with network security concepts, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption
- In depth understanding of computer hardware and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting IT Equipment
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position s role; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of experience in the field of technology related to the position's role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
