WUNC Radio is hiring a Major Gifts Officer. The primary purpose of this position is to establish relationships with individual donors and to cultivate, solicit, and steward them for major annual fund and special project contributions.


Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in fundraising
  • Experience soliciting gifts of $25,000
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Mastery of the basic principles and techniques of successful fundraising as they pertain to the identification, cultivation, closure, and stewardship of individual donor prospects
  • 8-10 years of fundraising experience with an established history of soliciting gifts of $50,000
  • Deep familiarity, dedication, and appreciation for public media
  • Experience working in public media
  • Ability to motivate and engender the confidence of co-workers and volunteers
  • Strong drive to be successful
  • Ability to take initiative on individual tasks and help identify and assist team members in resolving donor issues
  • Integrity and sincerity
