- Tuition AssistanceThe Medical Laboratory Scientist performs the following : Routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
- Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems.
- Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods.
- Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies.
- Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.
- May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems.
- Trains new employees and / or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and serves as a resource for less experienced staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.Experience Requirements : Minimum of 2 Years of clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and / or high complexity testing environment. Blood Bank and Meditech Lab experience preferred.Education Required : Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology required with required licensure / certification and with equivalent experienceAssociate's degree in medical laboratory technology with required licensure / certification and with equivalent experienceLicensure / Certification Requirements : ASCP or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification RequiredHours of Work : Monday-Friday 11 : 30am-7 : 30pmWeekend Requirements : Currently every 6thCall Requirements : Currently every 6th weekendCOVID-19 protocol : Mandatory staff vaccinations, face masks, social distancing, terminal cleaning, visitor restrictions, select patient testingOur employees are critical to our success and we value their contributions.
