ComTech is responsible for designing, maintaining, and supporting the data and voice infrastructures, critical facilities, and all associated components.

Essential Job Duties
This position provides strategic leadership to the Network Operations Center (NOC) data analyst team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous growth. As a leader, you will inspire and guide the team to excel in delivering operational excellence to ensure the effective management of our core network services. By cultivating an environment of trust, accountability, and innovation, you will empower the team to proactively address challenges and implement solutions that support organizational goals.

Leadership and Operations Management
  • Manage the daily operations of the Network Operations Center (NOC), including task allocation for staff and oversight of ongoing network-related projects.
  • Lead a cohesive, dynamic team, fostering collaboration with senior engineering staff to resolve network issues and provide solutions for the campus community.
  • Oversee the NOC staff supporting the university’s network infrastructure, ensuring alignment with operational standards and institutional goals through regular one-on-one staff engagement meetings.
  • Balance day-to-day operational duties with network-related and installation project priorities to maintain service excellence.


Troubleshooting and Process Improvement
  • Serve as a primary escalation point for managing the resolution of complex network issues, communicating status updates, and assigning appropriate resources to troubleshoot and identify solutions
  • Streamline and continually improve network processes to enhance service offerings and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a resource for integrating and optimizing Network Management tools, driving their continual improvement within the environment.
Documentation and Knowledge Management
  • Develop and maintain documentation to establish consistent procedures and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Guide the Knowledge Management vision for the team, promoting effective information sharing and process standardization.
Communication and Engagement
  • Act as a liaison with senior staff, peers, customers, and vendors to ensure that new requests and designs align with current operational standards and optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate across teams and departments to ensure seamless integration and support for network services.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree and at least one year of relevant experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience OR
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience

Other Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a technical team ensuring effective performance and development.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience allocating personnel and technical resources appropriately.
  • Proficient in conveying policies, procedures, and technical concepts clearly and concisely through both written and oral communication.
  • Experience with incident handling applications, such as ServiceNow.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong technical/network background (CCNA or similar)
  • Understanding of ITSM and/or ITIL certification
  • Network Monitoring experience
  • 3-5 years management experience
