What You’ll Do
- Financial Close and Reporting: Posts revenue and write-off transactions from multiple EHR systems to the general ledger, and records miscellaneous entries as necessary. Analyzes financial records to support preparation of financial statements, cost reports, statistical analyses, and reconciliations.
- Accounting Operations: Prepares journal entries, verifies and reconciles asset and liability accounts, and allocates revenues and expenses to proper periods.
- Audit and Compliance: Assists with annual financial audits and cost reporting, prepares year-end adjusting entries and audit workpapers.
- Check Processing: Assist with weekly check-run processing to preserve departmental internal controls.
- Grant Compliance: Assist with tracking grant expenses and recording revenues and supports quarterly or annual grant reporting requirements.
- Other Accounting Functions: Cross trains with various department team members to serve as a back-up on an as needed basis.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensures):
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field earned from accredited four year or university academic program
- One or more years in accounting or finance role.
- Knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience with general ledger functions and month end/ year end close process
- Foundational understanding of accounting and reporting standards
- Excellent record keeping skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze a wide range of data to identify trends and unusual items for investigation and corrective solution
- Action oriented able to follow up on feedback to ensure positive outcome
- Three to five years’ healthcare accounting experience
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
- Effective facilitation skills
- Experience with accounting software
- The pay range for this role is $61,300 to $66,700, based on education and experience.
