The Opportunity:
The Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor is a member of the Lakeside Recovery multidisciplinary team and plays a key role in helping patients with SUD primary or co-occurring mental health diagnoses navigate the steps toward recovery through individual and group counseling and recovery-oriented activities and assessments.
This is a full-time, on-site position. The pay range for this role is $27.00 - $29.85, based on experience.

What You’ll Do
- Maintains regular on-site attendance
- Provides daily planning and provision of therapeutic and psychoeducational mental health and SUD/recovery-focused curriculum, including daily provision of groups and therapeutic activities
- Engages Lakeside Recovery clients in exploration of treatment options and services
- Helps clients identify treatment goals by creating treatment plans.
- Conducts initial SUD assessments and ASAM assessments for clients with presenting SUD issues
- Follows the daily program schedules and ensures the direct care team is following the schedules as well
- Responsible for timely completion of group and assessment documentation.
- Participates in CPI training and assists Acute Care Department staff with client safety restraint & seclusion as necessary
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Human Services related field
- Current Wisconsin Substance Abuse Counselor or CSAC certification
- 1-3 years’ experience in a Behavioral Health or SUD services position
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services related field
- Current Wisconsin CSAC certification
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Behavioral Health or SUD services position
- This is a full-time, on-site position. The pay range for this role is $27.00 - $29.85, based on experience.
