Customer Service Representative – North Central Insurance Agency
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
North Central Insurance, a locally-owned independent insurance agency in Clare, Michigan, is looking for an experienced customer service representative to work in a fast-paced environment. The customer service representative will act as a liaison, provide product/service information and resolve any emerging problems that our customer accounts might face with accuracy and efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a high volume of incoming calls.
Deliver expertise by identifying and analyzing customer and agent needs to ensure high satisfaction, growth and retention of business.
Provide counsel and suggestions to our customers to adequately cover and protect what they value most. This is done by using upselling and cross-selling sales skills to educate customers and agents on new and existing insurance products & services.
Uphold our customer care standards.
Maintain and track accurate data in our computer systems.
Generate sales leads.
Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction.
Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication.
Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools.
Keep a record of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents consistently and accurately.
Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies.
Take the extra mile to engage customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Active P&C License preferred, but not required. Licensure required within 90 days of employment (employer will assist with training to obtain licensure).
Minimum of 6 months of related work experience required. Customer service experience preferred.
Strong communication and active listening skills.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
High school diploma required.
Ability to review, record and organize written data from various sources with no pre-established format.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, and the capacity to multi-task in a structured work environment are required.
Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information is mandatory.
Proficiency with computers is necessary, including knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office tools.
A clear understanding of the company’s policies, standards and procedures.
Familiarity with NASA Eclipse Management systems a plus.

Pay commensurate with experience.
