GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Vice President for Enrollment Management (VPEM) is a key member of the senior leadership team responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful administration of all enrollment-related functions at North Central Michigan College. This includes leadership and coordination of the College's recruitment, retention, financial aid, student engagement, persistence, and completion strategies, as well as strategic marketing efforts to attract, enroll, and retain students. The VPEM manages the leader of Marketing, Director of Financial Aid, Director of Student Services, and fosters an environment of collaboration across departments, ensuring College alignment with institutional goals and student needs.

DUTIES:

  • Responsible for shaping and implementing strategies related to student recruitment, admissions, financial aid, student engagement, retention, persistence and completion, and marketing, while creating a high-quality student experience and ensuring institutional goals are met.
  • Ensures alignment with the College's mission, vision, values, and strategic goals, and drives performance through clear action plans, measurable outcomes, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborates with other senior leadership to align strategic enrollment goals with the College's broader institutional priorities and long-term objectives.
  • Supervises and directs a team of directors and staff responsible for enrollment management, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Outreach, Dual Enrollment/Early College, and Retention Programs.
  • Supervises, directs and executes integrated marketing strategies, communications, and campaigns that drive student enrollment and enhance the College's brand.
  • Analyzes and uses enrollment data, market trends, and demographic shifts to inform and adjust recruitment and retention strategies that support student success from enrollment through graduation.
  • Supervises direct reports to ensure that resources and support systems are in place to help students succeed academically and personally, reducing attrition rates and enhancing the overall student experience.
  • Implements programs, supports and initiatives that engage students, strengthen the sense of belonging, and promote persistence and retention through completion.
  • Provides mentorship, performance expectations, reviews and professional development opportunities for staff, ensuring that enrollment and marketing teams have the tools and training needed to perform as expected.
  • Works with academic departments and faculty to align academic offerings with student needs, market demand, and enrollment goals.
  • Collaborates with faculty and team members to improve the student experience and engagement, both inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Oversees and manages the budget for enrollment services, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and efficiently to achieve goals.
  • Cultivates new relationships and fosters existing relationships with area schools, community organizations, local businesses, and other partners
  • Represents the College at community events.
  • Identifies and implements new technologies and processes to enhance the enrollment experience for students, faculty, and team members.
  • Is a Cabinet liaison for a number of relevant College committees.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the President.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, Enrollment Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least ten (10) years of progressive experience in higher education administration, with a minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role overseeing recruitment, admissions, financial aid, student services, or enrollment management.
  • Exhibits a track record of success in developing and executing comprehensive enrollment strategies that align with institutional goals.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with multiple departments to achieve enrollment and retention targets.
  • Strong leadership and management experience to inspire, mentor, and build high-performing teams.
  • A thorough understanding of the higher education landscape, including financial aid, admissions processes, and student retention strategies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of enrollment trends, market research, student demographics, and strategic planning in the context of higher education.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and track enrollment metrics effectively.
  • Familiarity with enrollment management technologies, student information systems, and CRM tools.
