Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our organization. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of payroll procedures, compliance with regulations, and be proficient in payroll software. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing:
- Execute the end-to-end payroll process, including data entry, verification, reconciliation and distribution of direct deposit paychecks.
- Remit payroll taxes and file related quarterly and annual returns.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations.
Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the payroll system.
- Process new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes in employment status.
- Verify timekeeping records and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.
Compliance:
- Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations to ensure continued compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Prepare and submit required reports and government surveys.
Communication:
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Finance departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized payroll records for auditing purposes.
- Prepare and maintain various reports related to payroll activities.
Miscellaneous:
- Sort and distribute weekly documents received from company job sites.
- Perform related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- ComputerEase software experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability and drive to develop improvements to current processes.
