SUMMARY: The Route Driver is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the agency’s shredding and water cooler services, ensuring that equipment and vehicles are properly maintained and that all services are delivered efficiently, safely, and professionally. This Route Driver role involves installation, servicing, maintenance, with a strong emphasis on customer service and operational organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain positive business relationships with all commercial service customers.
· Drive Box truck to and from customer locations, exchanging shredding storage bins, and retrieving destruction authorizations.
· Accurately record service interaction logs and required maintenance documentation.
· Ensure high-quality customer service for all assigned routes and walk-in customers.
· Perform assigned service route duties, including pickup and delivery, organizing, weighing, and staging of shred bins and boxes,
· Perform assigned water cooler servicing duties such as cleaning, sanitation, installation and removal, and filtration system maintenance.
· Operate industrial shredders, bailers, and scales for document destruction, and load paper bails onto recycling trucks, as needed.
· Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues of assigned and other service-related equipment, as needed.
· Maintain and use company-issued GPS tracking equipment for effective route optimization.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including but not limited to office space, service vehicles, and customer sites.
· Adhere to all NCSS safety and security protocols and work in a state of alertness and urgency.
· Maintain effective and timely communication of service demands and delays to leadership.
· Work with a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the Commercial Services Supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
· Proficiency in using calendar tracking systems for appointments, routing, and event scheduling.
· Must possess a valid PA driver’s license with a clean driving record and pass DOT certification.
· Must pass state and federal and state background checks, including criminal and child abuse history.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum of 2 years’ driving experience required, with preference for experience with Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, Industrial vehicles and/or Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs).
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain records accurately.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with solid mathematical abilities.
· Ability to use small hand tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, and utility carts.
· Exceptional customer service skills with professional and courteous demeanor.
· Competence in troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues, including minor plumbing.
· Ability to work independently and manage time-sensitive service appointments.
· Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot shredding, vending, and water cooler equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job including:
· Ability to sit, stand, and lift a minimum of 49 pounds independently, and more with assistance.
· Ability to maneuver, load, and unload wheeled equipment ranging between 25-250 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.

REQUIRED ATTIRE & UNIFORM: Business Casual to include a company logo shirt and cargo pants/shorts with steel-toed shoes. All clothing should be in good condition, with no rips, tears, or fraying. No jeans unless otherwise approved by the President/CEO.
