Position Purpose
The Transfer Credit Specialist should understand all aspects of records and registration including transcripts, transfer analysis, advising, and policy enforcement. Provides support to the Registrar in technical aspects with degree completion review and analysis, creating pathways for graduation and providing academic advising for degree completers. Also assists with transfer credit review and data entry, while providing support of the daily functions within the Registrar's Office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Assist with transfer credit processes ensuring that academic records are accurate and complete.
- Analyze, evaluate and research courses submitted for consideration of all transfer credit types.
- Process transfer credits approved upon evaluation of documents submitted by current and prospective Determine transfer course work applicability and/or equivalency in collaboration with the Registrar and Program Director.
- Provide continuous, timely, and courteous service when assisting current and prospective students with transfer evaluations.
- Keep updated articulation agreements and transfer credit guides, advising students in the types of courses which are transferable.
- Build equivalencies and articulation processes within
- Assist in evaluating processes and recommending modifications to ensure the highest level of student/customer service, workflow, and accuracy of records.
- Work with Admissions to assist students with questions related to degree completion. Gain familiarity with historic NCU course offerings and degree requirements in order to map student's courses to current degree
- Evaluate coursework and transfer credits to create viable options for degree completion, gaining approval through the Academic Leadership Team (ALT) for NCU Pathways completion plans as needed.
- Work with the Registrar and Program Directors to get approval for suggested variances required to map a student's coursework to current degree requirements, creating an audit sheet that allows an advisor to track a student's outstanding degree requirements.
- Communicate with re-admitted students and function as their academic advisor to coach and assist with the degree completion progress from admission to graduation; providing information, path updates, and forms as
- Develop procedures to ensure timely preparation and scanning of student academic records, in accordance with AACRAO record retention and MN state recommendations and requirements.
- Oversee the maintenance of active student files and ensure that filing, scanning and document destruction is proceeding in an accurate and timely manner through the file audit process.
- Oversee the creation of accurate student transcripts and audit sheets from microfiche archives, including student records from the Carlson Institute as
- Manage communications and create student resources on NCU internal and external website.
- Gain familiarity with all staffing roles and responsibilities in the office in order to provide training and support for all roles within the Registrar's Office.
- Provide primary customer service for the front desk and phones as
- Assist students, staff, and faculty with questions regarding academic policies and course and program requirements.
- Manage and process student forms and petitions following university policy and providing clear and timely communication with students and faculty.
- Process transcript requests ensuring timely processing, including creation of transcripts from microfiche records.
- Provide primary support to the Associate Registrar for duties related to
Minimum Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years' experience in a university Registrar's Office or related setting with student record experience preferred.
- Skill in personnel management for efficiency and
- Must be process-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required in order to manage detailed information and complex policies.
- Attention to detail with high accuracy in order to manage student records and database information.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced student-support environment, and prioritize workload to manage deadlines.
- Experience with technological resources including a wide variety of computer programs and applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds to manage office supplies and storage
