Position Summary
The Sr. Director of Applications Development oversees a team of application developers and database administrators responsible for writing, testing, and maintaining websites, portals, SQL scripts/jobs and web services, and administration of SQL database environments. This position will develop and articulate the applications vision of the organization. The Sr. Director of Applications Development will work within the scope of responsibilities as dictated below with guidance and support from our IT and Operations leadership team.
Essential Functions
- Spearheads all facets of the company’s production application environment and associated personnel, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and business goals.
- Oversees the selection, development, and maintenance of web-related services to cater to the diverse business needs of affiliated companies, while driving innovation and efficiency.
- Leads pivotal development initiatives and process enhancement endeavors to yield actionable insights and recommendations for product enrichment, audience expansion, and revenue maximization.
- Actively engages in the assessment and selection of vendor software packages to effectively address evolving business requirements.
- Provides substantial input into the selection and prioritization of corporate methodologies, tools, and standards, fostering enhanced efficiency and quality in development and maintenance processes, and mentors team members in their adoption.
- Collaborates closely with business unit leaders to establish strategic priorities and comprehensive plans, ensuring alignment of technology initiatives with both short-term objectives and long-term vision.
- Advocates for technology's pivotal role in driving business strategy and cost-effective solutions for affiliated companies, presenting innovative ideas and strategies to optimize organizational performance.
- Directs research efforts and stays abreast of industry trends in application development processes, methodologies, architectures, and platforms, guiding the team in leveraging emerging technologies effectively.
- Exercises control over development and deployment processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality implementations that surpass business expectations, and mentors team members in best practices.
- Maintains an exhaustive understanding of all systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance across all components, while mentoring team members to develop similar expertise.
- Fosters a collaborative and solution-oriented environment, actively promoting knowledge sharing and mentorship within the team.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach in assessing and addressing issues and escalations with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
- Ensures timely delivery of all projects within scope and budget constraints, while mentoring team members to enhance project management skills.
- Actively contributes to the development of team members by sharing job knowledge, skills, and innovative ideas, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the organization.
- Adapts quickly to frequent process changes and improvements.
- Is reliable, engaged, and provides feedback as to improve processes and policies.
- Attends all department, team, and company meetings as required.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related technical degree and/or experience 5 years’ related experience
- 5 years’ experience with .NET platform including C# and VB, MS SQL and Microsoft development stack
- Expert knowledge of a variety of application development languages, tools, frameworks, and architectures including web and mobile, specifically C#, .net
- Experience managing all phases of the software development lifecycle
- Experience managing varied software development methodologies for key internal systems – including waterfall and agile
- Experience in a healthcare and/or health-related environment desirable

Pay Range and Compensation Package
Salary ranges may vary depending on location. Actual compensation depends on education, experience, and relevant skills. In addition, benefits include:
