Overview
Under general direction, the NCRD Performing Arts Center Coordinator is responsible for theater events. This includes marketing the space to outside groups and scheduling and coordinating all productions and events.
The ideal candidate will possess a passion for the performing arts and strong communication and organizational skills to engage with participants, educators, and the community.
Duties
- Organize public performances and events, overseeing all aspects from planning to execution.
- Coordinate theater lighting and audio maintenance.
- Coordinate lighting and sound training for staff and volunteers as needed.
- Develop a working relationship with maintenance/custodial staff to support safety/cleanliness requirements for the theater space.
- Foster a professional relationship with production staff, performers, guest speakers, sponsors, etc., involved in productions and events.
- Develop volunteer opportunities to support events and performances when necessary. Provide oversight of those NCRD volunteers during concerts and events.
- Maintain good public relations with members and guests. Introduce them to new programs, staff, and volunteer opportunities.
- Must know basic budgeting and administrative principles/practices.
- Negotiate contracts with potential renters, vendors, musicians, art groups, community theater groups, and managers.
- Ensure that all parties fulfill all contractual items.
- Maintain a consistent, professional image through dress, actions, and relationships with members/guests.
- Coordinate schedules for classes, rehearsals, concerts, and theater performances, ensuring all logistical details are managed efficiently.
- Communicate with community members regarding program details and updates.
- Write promotional materials, including press releases and social media content, to enhance program visibility.
- Maintain records of participant progress and program outcomes to assess effectiveness.
Skills
- Ability to coordinate and plan office workflow.
- Knowledge of office procedures, computer hardware and software, and basic clerical and bookkeeping techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Exceptional telephone and customer service skills are required.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and take direction.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, trustworthiness, and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- A collaborative spirit that can work well within a team environment.
- Ability to pass the required background check.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Knowledge of theater & music lighting and audio is a bonus.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.50 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
