Overview
We are seeking a skilled Stone Sawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Stone work, with experience operating various wet jet saws and hand tools. As a Sawyer, you will play a crucial role in the production process, ensuring that materials are cut accurately and efficiently to meet project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Operate saws and other cutting equipment to produce stone components according to specifications.
- Utilize hand tools and machinery safely and effectively to complete tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and AutoCAD designs to understand project requirements.
- Measure and mark materials using calipers and other measuring instruments for precision cutting.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure quality control throughout the production process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in programming CNC machines as needed for specific projects.
- Participate in inventory management within the warehouse setting, ensuring materials are stored correctly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sawyer or in a similar stone working role is preferred.
- Familiarity with operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment is a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, saws, and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of Stone work processes and techniques is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of CNC programming is advantageous but not required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise instructions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
