Purpose: The 7th Grade Math Long-Term Substitute Teacher will report to the Middle School Principal and will be responsible for providing instruction in mathematics for 7th-grade students during the interim search for a permanent Middle School Math teacher. The substitute must have strong leadership abilities and subject matter expertise, particularly in integrating a biblical worldview into the curriculum. This position requires a commitment to fostering students’ academic, social, and spiritual growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field
- 3 years of classroom teaching experience, preferably with middle school students
- Strong conceptual understanding of mathematics
- Strong leadership and classroom management skills
- Ability to integrate biblical principles with subject matter expertise in Mathematics
- Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment
- Proficient use of technology in service of learning
- Proficient use of the Google Suite and Google Classroom
- A relational, kingdom-focused learner with a growth mindset

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver Mathematics lessons that integrate biblical principles and foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and application of mathematical concepts
- Manage the classroom effectively, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment conducive to learning
- Adapt and implement the regular teacher’s lesson plans, as well as create supplementary materials when necessary
- Provide care and nurture for the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of each student
- Assess and evaluate student performance, providing feedback and support to promote growth
- Collaborate with colleagues in lesson planning, weekly meetings, school-wide initiatives, and professional learning opportunities
- Respond flexibly to last-minute changes and assignments, demonstrating adaptability in various teaching scenarios
Other Information:
- This is a temporary full-time position (40 hours per week) during the search for a permanent math teacher, which is estimated to last from January to May.
